BANANA BREAD

 

This delicious recipe comes from our Herd Manager, Trinity Smith. It’s golden toasty brown on the outside and moist and rich on the inside - a big hit here at Green Valley Organics!

 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup Green Valley Organics Lactose Free Sour Cream
  • 3 bananas sliced or diced
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350, grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
  2. Mix butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla - mix well.
  4. Whisk together flour, soda, salt in a separate bowl, then mix into butter mixture until smooth.
  5. Fold in Sour Cream, bananas, and nuts (if using) until just combined.
  6. Spread evenly into pan. Bake for ~60 min or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven, let cool then un-mold, slice and serve!
