Sour cream meets magazine’s ‘clean criteria’; rich and creamy taste proves tempting for editor

SEBASTOPOL, Calif. (April 8, 2014) – The editors and experts at Clean Eating Magazine announced that GrClean Eating Clean Choice Award Winner 2014een Valley Organics Lactose Free Sour Cream is a 2014 recipient of their “3rd Annual Clean Choice Awards.”  Specifically, the sour cream was recognized for its rich and creamy texture, great taste and the sustainable practices that are used in its production. The award honors packaged foods and goods across 12 categories for their exceptional ingredient lists, delicious taste and environmental friendliness.

All of Green Valley Organics products are made from milk that comes from a local single-source, Certified Humane Raised & Handled® dairy and produced in a 100% solar powered creamery. Testament to the sour cream’s taste was included in the write-up about the product: “…this sour cream is so delicious that one unnamed CE (Clean Eating) editor was caught eating it by the spoonful.”

“We are dedicated to bringing our customers the most delicious, least processed products possible and to have our efforts recognized by this respected publication is truly an honor,” said Green Valley Organics Owner Jennifer Bice. “We aspire to set the standard of excellence for quality in the products we produce and services we provide, and are committed to fairness and integrity in our partnerships with employees, customers, suppliers, and all of our other business relationships.”

The awards were created three years ago to recognize companies working to create clean and healthy packaged products. This year, 84 products received awards. Green Valley Organics was among six products featured in the “Dairy & Dairy-Free Alternatives” category.

“We feel it’s important to reward companies for their innovation and service to healthy eaters everywhere,” said Andrea Gourgy, editor, Clean Eating Magazine. “The Clean Eating bar is set high and we’re proud to unveil the products that meet our impossibly clean criteria.”
